Weston Select Board Reorganizes, Approves Fiske Law Office Lease and Historic Restriction Fix

WESTON — May 12, 2026 — Weston's newly reorganized Select Board approved a special permit for the long-vacant Fiske Law Office and moved to fix an insurance impasse blocking the sale of a historic home. John F. McDonald was elected Chair and Alfred L. Aydelott was confirmed as Clerk at the May 12 meeting, both by unanimous roll-call votes. The board conditionally approved a special permit allowing Bryan Technologies — whose principal partner, Gardner Fisk Willis, has a family connection to the building — to lease 2598 Boston Post Road as a two-person general office, pending Planning Board sign-off expected May 20. Separately, the board unanimously authorized Town Manager Leon Gaumond and Town Counsel to draft an amendment to the historic preservation restriction on 823 Boston Post Road, after owners Helen and Robert Lockhart reported that no insurance carrier will add the Town of Weston as an additional insured on a residential policy — a condition of the current restriction — blocking a pending sale. The board also received an update on Weston Power Choice, which has saved program participants just over $2 million against Eversource Basic Service rates; bids for a replacement contract go out May 20, with a proposed structural shift that could generate an estimated $250,000 for local renewable energy projects.
