Weston Select Board to Seek Fire Station Design Fees at May Town Meeting

WESTON — January 16, 2026 — Weston Select Board signals support for fire station design fees at May Town Meeting. Town Manager Leon Gaumond, recapping the January 13 board meeting in a Select Board Rewind episode, said members appeared agreeable to bringing fire station design fees before voters at the Annual Town Meeting, though no formal vote was taken; the board also dissolved the Fire Station Working Group and thanked co-chairs Jim Palando and Tom Palmer for their work. A public hearing on small cell equipment installation near 121 Love Lane was continued to January 27. HYM Investment Group presented plans for an assisted living center at 300 Wellesley Street — the Regis College site — but the board held off on referring the proposal to the Planning Board, citing a need for more information. Weston also received a Climate Leader designation from the Commonwealth and was notified it will be recognized by the Massachusetts Municipal Association for its 2025 annual report.
