Weston Planning Board Elects Alex Selvig as New Chair at May Meeting

WESTON — May 20, 2026 — Weston Planning Board unanimously elected Vice Chair Alex Selvig as its new chair and welcomed newly appointed member Adrienne Giske at its May 20 meeting. Outgoing Chair Leslie Glynn, who holds a master's degree in architecture from MIT and one in urban design from Harvard, nominated Selvig at the close of a nearly three-and-a-half-hour session that also included site plan approvals, a deferred special permit renewal, and a tree-removal dispute. The board voted unanimously to grant site plan approval for Bryan Technologies to occupy the historic Fisk Law Office as a one-to-two-person administrative office, and approved a modified tree replacement and reduced-footprint tennis court plan for 56 Ridgeway Road after a basswood tree was misidentified during earlier review, with three replacement basswood trees to be planted on site. The Meadowbrook School summer camp renewal — which would lift a 60 percent minimum bus-ridership requirement for enrollment up to 350 campers — was sent back for a written decision ahead of a vote at the June 3 meeting. A separate 51 Willard Road application involving an undisclosed retaining wall was continued to June 17 pending a site walk after two board members pressed for an explanation of how divergent plan sets reached both the planning board and the building permit office.
