Weston School Building Committee Approves Minutes, Updates MSBA Membership Filing
WESTON — May 21, 2026 — Weston School Building Committee advances MSBA educational profile toward June 30 deadline. The committee voted unanimously at its May 21 meeting to approve three sets of meeting minutes covering March 19, April 2, and April 16, and to authorize an updated Massachusetts School Building Authority membership submission replacing outgoing member Jane with newly elected School Committee member Steve Dietz. Consultant Karen presented a draft educational profile questionnaire and enrollment data, flagging that MSBA-sourced enrollment figures were found to be inaccurate and have since been corrected in coordination with the state agency. The committee debated which of Weston's planned housing developments — including projects totaling more than 700 units already under discussion — to include in enrollment projections, with one member warning that assisted living facilities such as the Regis College and seminary sites should be characterized carefully. "Less is more and pointed is better," said member Dan, cautioning against over-loading the submission. The committee expects to review a near-final draft at its next meeting before the June 30 filing deadline.
